If Google Search is generating impressions or visits but no leads, do not start by publishing more articles. First find which link in the chain is failing: search intent, visibility, page relevance, conversion, lead quality or measurement. Organic search can create demand without an immediate form submission, but a B2B site still needs a clear path from the question to a useful next step.
1. Diagnose the leak before changing the page
Use a 28–90 day Search Console view and separate branded from non-branded queries. Review queries, pages, countries, devices, impressions, clicks, CTR and average position together. Then compare the page’s organic landing sessions with meaningful actions in analytics and CRM.
- Impressions are low: check indexability, search intent, topic relevance, internal links and whether a dedicated page is justified.
- Impressions exist but CTR is weak: improve the title, description and first visible answer without promising something the page cannot deliver.
- Visits exist but nobody acts: check message match, clarity, proof, page speed, mobile layout and whether the CTA fits the buyer’s readiness.
- Forms exist but sales sees nothing useful: review qualification, routing, consent, CRM ownership and the definition of a qualified lead.
2. Match one page to one search job
A page should make its intended question obvious. Do not force one homepage to rank for every service. Create a focused page when the audience, problem, geography or next action is materially different—for example, B2B lead generation in the Netherlands versus a general demand-generation guide.
Write the answer in the language buyers use, including natural variants and Dutch context where relevant. Avoid keyword repetition. Explain who the page is for, what problem it addresses, what the process includes and who should not use it.
3. Build an answer-first page for SEO, GEO and AEO
Put a concise answer near the top, then expand it with definitions, decision criteria, steps, limitations and a practical example. Use descriptive headings, short paragraphs, lists and stable anchor links so a human, crawler or answer engine can retrieve the right passage without guessing.
For GEO and AEO, make the entity explicit: name the company, author, location, audience, services and evidence policy. Link related pages such as AI search visibility, pipeline measurement and the relevant service page. AI visibility is not a separate shortcut or a special markup trick; it depends on useful, reliable content and normal technical SEO foundations.
4. Give the visitor a credible next action
Organic visitors arrive at different stages. Offer one primary commercial action and one lower-commitment action, not a wall of competing buttons.
- Early research: a useful guide, checklist or calculator.
- Problem is clear: an audit, diagnostic or focused growth sprint.
- Ready to discuss: a short, specific growth call with clear expectations.
State what happens after the action, what information is needed, and whether there is an obligation. Trust is part of conversion design.
5. Measure qualified actions, not vanity traffic
Define a small event chain: organic landing view → engaged visit → useful tool or guide interaction → enquiry → qualified lead → opportunity. Mark only the business-important actions as GA4 key events, and document the definition and owner of each one.
Use Search Console for queries, pages, impressions, clicks and CTR. Use analytics for on-site behaviour and key events. Use the CRM for qualification and opportunity progression. These systems answer different questions; do not treat one platform’s click as revenue.
6. Add evidence that a generic article cannot copy
Show your method, constraints and reasoning. Use an identified author, update date, original frameworks, transparent examples, source links and clear boundaries. If you have no client case study yet, do not invent one. Use an illustrative model labelled as illustrative, or document your own audit process and what it can and cannot prove.
A practical 30-day recovery plan
- Days 1–5: export Search Console queries and pages; separate branded and non-branded demand; identify the three strongest opportunities.
- Days 6–12: improve one page per opportunity: direct answer, intent match, title, internal links, author, sources and one clear CTA.
- Days 13–20: repair the measurement chain and CRM handoff; test every form, calendar route and consent state.
- Days 21–30: publish one genuinely useful supporting guide, connect it internally and review qualified actions—not only rankings.
Do not expect an immediate ranking jump. Search systems need time to recrawl and reassess a page, and AI answers vary by query, location and user context. The durable strategy is to make the best answer, the clearest entity and the most trustworthy next step available.
