B2B measurement has a time lag. The answer is not to abandon platform data, but to connect it to a small, explicit set of quality and progression signals.

Practical ruleMake the decision, evidence and owner explicit before adding another channel, tool or automation.

Define the handoffs

Write down what counts as an inquiry, accepted lead, sales opportunity and closed revenue. Give each stage an owner and a source of truth.

Separate leading and commercial signals

Use clicks and form completion for diagnosis, then qualified lead rate, opportunity progression and pipeline contribution for commercial evaluation.

Return useful feedback

Where the stack allows it, return lifecycle or quality signals to campaigns. If it does not, create a consistent weekly review rather than pretending the data is complete.

Review at the buying pace

Match the review window to deal velocity. Avoid changing strategy every day when the commercial signal needs several weeks to mature.
