A CRM implementation succeeds when the operating model is clear before the software is configured. Use this checklist to protect data quality, ownership, adoption and privacy in a Dutch B2B context.
1. Define the commercial scope
Name the teams, markets, lifecycle stages and customer journeys included in phase one. Do not migrate every historical field just because it exists.
2. Clean and map the data
Agree account, contact, opportunity, activity, source and owner fields. Document duplicates, missing values, source precedence and what should not be imported.
3. Design the handoff
Define what marketing calls a qualified lead, what sales accepts, which next action is required and when ownership changes. A CRM cannot repair an undefined process.
4. Check privacy boundaries
Document lawful basis, consent where relevant, retention, access rights and processor relationships. For Dutch direct marketing, verify the current requirements with authoritative guidance before launch.
5. Launch with a feedback loop
Train around real tasks, not feature tours. Review record completeness, stage movement and user friction weekly during the first rollout period.
